2021/2022 Wedding Trends

It’s safe to say that 2020 has been a bit of a disappointment and many of us are glad to see the back of it! For anyone who has been reluctant to start their wedding planning, the new year is such a good time to dust off the Wedding Planner and start ticking things off your list. Here are some of the trends for 2021/2022 weddings, which of course have been hugely influenced by the pandemic. Upcoming weddings will be unique in many ways to ensure everyone can attend, in person or virtually, and we need to make sure we support our local businesses and stores for that personal touch.

Relaxed and Intimate With the possibility of reduced numbers many Brides and Grooms are opting for a less traditional vibe and choosing a much more chilled atmosphere. The benefits of not having hundreds of guests and opting for more personalised touches you will be able to create an intimate and romantic Wedding Day, a photographer’s dream!

Staggered Celebrations If you are opting for a smaller Wedding Day, don’t forget to still include those other special people that can’t be there for the ceremony. Stag/hen parties and reception celebrations are still a big part of any couples Wedding and it’s important to include your favourite people to celebrate with you! No one likes to have FOMO!

Live Streaming What could be more 2020 than live streaming your Wedding Day? It’s an unfortunate but necessary

way of making sure your nearest, dearest and vulnerable are able to witness this extraordinary moment. You can give this responsibility to a guest or if you want to reduce any stress, there are companies which will now help to stream the ceremony for you, letting you relax and enjoy the day.

Supporting Local and British

This is a trend which has already taken off massively in 2020 and we hope it will continue to be the case in the coming years. There are so many amazing talented and creative small businesses in the UK which we must continue to get behind especially in 2021! Whether it be flowers, cakes or invitations, all can be sourced locally from small businesses which will make their day and make your day even more special.

Weekday Weddings Long goes the tradition of weekend ceremonies as we see many more future newlyweds opting for midweek weddings, and why not? It’s a genius way to save money just make sure you give your guests plenty of notice to sort out work commitments. It is actually believed that Wednesdays are the best day to get married as it’s the easiest day to get off work, apparently!? Bold & Beautiful The past few years have brought us pale pastels and muted tones whereas we hope to see a strong sense of colour in 2021 and onwards! Bringing back bold colours like mustard, burgundy and navy mixed together with the paler blush pinks, greys and pastels make for a bright and eye capturing photographs you will fondly look back on for years to come!

Whether you have decided on a small, intimate affair or you’re going to go ‘all out’ on your Big Day, there may be certain things you have to change after the pandemic. 2020/2021 Weddings will be a part of history and will prove that love conquers all!
