Well, I can’t actually believe we are here again. Lockdown 2.0.
But we may as well make the most of it. I know for some this is easier said than done as I understand how difficult it is on mental health. I find that I have to have a focus, something to keep my mind busy. So, I thought I would write a few of my coping mechanisms down in the hope that it may help someone else somewhere find a little motivation to keep going.
I know that this time around, the weather isn’t as nice, it isn’t as warm, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wrap up warm, go for a stroll around your local streets if that’s all you can do. But get out of the house. Government have advised we can meet with 1 person from another household. To me, that is the best news from this bad situation. Call a friend, family member or neighbour and get some fresh air.
I have been creating Christmas presents for family members.
If crafting isn’t your thing, you can even grab some felt tip pens and a colouring book and colour away! Such a soothing way to pass some time. I know its rubbish what we are all going through…but that is exactly it, we are all going through it. The best quote I have seen is ‘We aren’t all in the same boat, but we are all in the same storm’ and this is so fitting.
We are all missing out on massive things, from birthdays, to family time, to weddings. But we will get through this, we will celebrate together in one big room again soon! We will be able to cuddle our loved ones and go to our favourite places without worrying about how many people are there. There will be an end to all of this. But for now, make sure you contact people, make sure you keep in touch with your friends and family. It is very easy to allow time to pass by and all of a sudden days and weeks have passed. If you think ‘I need to call my mum’ Just do it, there and then! Don’t leave it!
We at Mon Amie are gutted to have to close our doors but, we have to believe that it is all for the best and it means we will be able to help find the perfect bridesmaid dresses with you sooner without restrictions. We feel so much for all the couples who were due to be married in the next 4 weeks and now are unable to do so! We know first hand that it is an awful thing to have to re-arrange your wedding so close to the date, but you will have your day! You will be married and be able to spend the rest of your lives together.
We send you all massive virtual hugs and wish everyone the best! Our inbox will be open 24/7, as always!
